Prof. Yael Benyamini

Yael Benyamini, PhD, is a health psychologist and a Professor at the Bob Shapell School of Social Work. Her research is on health and illness perceptions and their effects, focusing on women's reproductive health issues.

 

She is interested in the effects of the pandemic on women during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, and its effects on midwives and obstetricians and on the communication between women and their providers in these times.

 

She initiated and led the "Pregnancy and Childbirth in Corona times" track in ACADEMIA-IL project, in which information and guidelines were developed for pregnant women, for health care professionals in midwifery and obstetrics, and for managers and policy makers related to the functioning of these disciplines during a pandemic.
