Itai Ater is a Professor of Business Economics and Strategy at the Coller School of Management at Tel Aviv University.
Research Interests:
Itai's research examines the determinants of competition in different industries, and how interactions between consumers, firms and regulations affect market outcomes.
Many of his studies examine the sources for the high cost of living in Israel, and how policy interventions in markets such as the real estate and food retail industries are effective in promoting competition.
Itai completed his PhD in economics at Stanford and in 2018-2019 he was a visiting professor at at UC Berkeley, teaching a course on the Israeli Economy. He serves as a board member at the Israeli Fair Trade Commission, and a research fellow at the Center of European Policy Research.
