Dr. Ilya Kagan

Dr. Ilya Kagan is a senior lecturer in the Nursing Department of Steyer School of Health professions, Tel Aviv University, and acts as head of the Accelerated program for non-nursing BA graduates.

 

Dr. Kagan was involved in the development of new systems in the field of quality of care in Israel and published a number of papers on this topic. Recently received a number of research grants.

 

Dr. Kagan is a member of steering committees of the Israeli Society for Quality in Health Care and of the national project for development of patient-reported outcomes (PROMs).

Over the past years, as a part of international cooperation, Dr. Kagan led a process of Establishment and foundation of Quality Unit in the General European Medical Center (GEMC) in Russia and Quality Improvement Program in Governmental Hospital in Astana, Kazakhstan. Ilya Kagan has published 50 academic works in international scientific journals and 31 papers in Israeli Journals. His research area is developing in two tracks:

 

1) quality and patient safety and 2) preparation to and recovery after invasive procedures. In the last three years, Ilya is an active member of Sigma's European Regional Communications Taskforce (Sigma Theta Tau International)
